Who we are.
Compass Community Care is a not-for-profit organisation established to relieve poverty, distress, and loneliness in our community, and in the world around us.
Originally started in 2007 by a group of friends attending Compass Church together, it was formally incorporated in 2012 and enjoys Public Benevolent Institution Status through the ATO. Whilst it maintains a connection with Compass Church through volunteers and donations, it is a non-religious organisation.
Today, Compass Community Care addresses the needs in our community by offering something as seemingly small as a friendly chat and a bag full of groceries to sheltering the homeless over winter and providing 10,000 meals to crisis accommodation centres across Melbourne. We seek to improve the lives of our elderly in aged care accommodation and inspire our youth to live their best life.
You can see more of the positive difference we make in people’s lives by checking us out on Facebook and Instagram.
Our Values.
For our volunteers.
We strive to provide a safe place for volunteers to connect with others and be an important member of our team.
We want our volunteers to have fun above all else, and insist upon laughter, chatting and definitely smiling, whilst “working.”
We aim to provide a warm and encouraging environment where volunteers feel safe to try something new, learn more about themselves and others, and grow as they volunteer, no matter how young or old.
We hope that volunteering with us is a fun adventure and you can’t wait to do more!
For those in need in our community.
We treat all people with respect and dignity.
Every person is valuable.
We give without an agenda.
We give without judgment.
We will support and encourage you to achieve a brighter future if you are willing.
