The Pantry provides practical support to families and individuals facing hardship. Complimentary food and care parcels containing fresh produce, pantry staples, pre-made meals, household and personal care items are available to those needing assistance.
Our walk in pantry, normally open every Tuesday - is TEMPORARILY PAUSED, until further notice. If you are in crisis and need emergency food relief please contact us on 95574974 or email pantry@compasscare.org.au for assistance.
A big THANK-YOU to FOODBANK, OZ HARVEST and community members who generously donate fresh produce to our pantry.
Community Kitchen
Our gathering on a Sunday to share a hot meal and chat together, is community in action! Anyone from the city of Glen Eira and surrounds is welcome at our Sunday lunch; cooked and served by our amazing team of volunteers. Pantry items and take home meals are also available to lunch guests who require them.
Thanks to a grant from the Victorian State government our kitchen renovation is almost complete. We also have a dazzling array of new kitchen equipment our volunteers can’t wait to get their (Covid-free & gloved) hands on – courtesy of Glen Eira City Council. Sunday Lunch will re-commence on June 13, 2021 at 1pm. We can’t wait to sit down and share a meal with you, just like old times – but even better. COMMUNITY KITCHEN IS CURRENTLY PAUSED.
Companions - Reminiscing Group.
Created out of a heart for the elderly, Companions seek to encourage and uplift the lonely.
Companions is a weekly program of 45 minutes duration where we seek participation through laughter, activity and chatter. The sessions are loosely based on a set program including planned activities, always song and maybe throwing a ball!
Laughter and group connection, along with a sense of community while keeping minds and bodies active are our focus with this program.
Youth Engagement.
Our support of local schools takes on many forms. We believe that it’s vital to serve and connect with all aspects of the school community. This includes supporting students, teachers and staff, parents and families.
If you would like Compass Community Care to support your school please email us at info… or call 0411644099 for a confidential chat.
Art Program.
The Art Program aims to provide a safe space for women to find belonging in community and a modality for emotional expression.
The Art Program runs for 12 weeks commencing 27th April 2021. Participants will meet each Tuesday between 10am and 1pm. All materials are supplied. This program is FREE but requires a $50 deposit to secure a place, refundable upon completion of the 12 week program. The Art Program is finished until further funding arrangements can be made. Glen Eira Council generously supported our previous program.
